Laser Vision Clinic Central Coast (LVCCC) is now open and is treating patients in the Central Coast area. This brand new, purpose-built facility, conveniently located in Erina, is the only clinic in Central Coast to offer laser eye surgery. The Central Coast community now has a local, convenient and world class clinic available to reduce their reliance on glasses and contact lenses. The clinic is part of Central Coast Day Hospital, a licensed day hospital specialising in the full spectrum of eye surgery procedures including cataract, retinal as well as cosmetic & plastic eye surgery.

The technology implemented at LVCCC is world’s best eye laser technology and currently only available to handful of facilities in Australia and New Zealand. The clinic is equipped with Carl Zeiss VisuMax Femtosecond Laser and the MEL 80 Excimer laser. These are currently the most technologically advanced refractive lasers available and provide the highest quality bladeless vision correction.

Some clinics utilise a manual mechanical blade to create the first critical step of the LASIK procedure: the corneal flap. At LVCCC, the VisuMax laser provides LASIK patients with a safer and more accurate flap with lower risk of complications and faster recovery times. The Mel80 Excimer laser then provides extremely safe and precise vision correction leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed. These are important technological advances to safety and class leading patient outcomes.

Dr Anil Arora, Medical Director LVCCC and Ophthalmic Surgeon, has been practicing in Central Coast and in Sydney since 1998. Dr Arora has successfully performed eye surgery on thousands of patients. He was the first to bring retinal eye surgery to Central Coast and he is now bringing laser eye surgery to the area. “We are delighted to be the first clinic to introduce the laser vision correction services to the residents of Central Coast. We chose to invest in the Carl Zeiss technology because it offers superior clinical results with greater speed, precision and safety. Until recently Central Coast did not have a facility offering vision correction surgery; patients had to travel to Sydney and Newcastle. Considering the numerous visits involved this created significant inconvenience for the patients and precluded many from undertaking such surgery. Patient’s can now confidently expect to receive the world’s best eye laser technology right here in Erina.”

“At LVCCC, advanced technology is a hallmark of our service” said Roger Cronin, Chief Operating Officer. “Our investment in this technology underscores our commitment to provide our patients with the highest quality treatment possible. In addition, being part of a licensed and regulated day hospital gives patients peace of mind and places LVCCC ahead of its Sydney and Newcastle counterparts”.

Dr Arora is joined by a team of highly qualified ophthalmic refractive surgeons, orthoptists and specialised ophthalmic nursing staff, to provide laser vision correction services. They offer free consultations to anyone who wants to find out if they are a candidate for laser eye surgery. They also offer a variety of free educational offerings to help patients learn more about refractive surgery, including evening seminars, patient education materials and personalized consultations.
