Dr Anil Arora, Medical Director of Laser Vision Clinic Central Coast, a keen athlete and marathon runner himself, is inspired and proud to be sponsoring and following the progress of Pat Farmer, Endurance Marathon runner, as he completes a gruelling 4600km run – approx 80km per day – across India.
Pat’s 60 day “Spirit of India Run” commenced on 26th January, celebrating Australia day and India’s Republic day. The journey began at the southern-most point of India, along the west coast, towards Mumbai and beyond, to Delhi and the Himalayan Mountains. The Spirit of India’s aim is to promote goodwill, friendship and fair trade between Australia and India, while also highlighting and raising funds for girls’ education in India through the K.C. Mahindra Education Trust. The key to promoting progress and equality in a nation starts with empowering young girls who grow up to be mothers, teachers and role models for the next generations.
